Glass solder products

by KERAFOL®

Glass solders are a special class of material and have been developed to withstand extreme conditions. They are resistant to high temperatures, gas-tight and chemically inert. For this reason, they are used for sealing in fuel or electrolysis cell stacks. There they have to withstand oxidizing and reducing atmospheres, be electrically insulating and survive thermal cycles.

During a joining procedure, the glass solder is partially crystallized and forms a stable glass ceramic. Our glass solder is suitable for CFY (chromium – iron – yttrium) or ferritic interconnectors and can be used for joining steel/steel, steel/zirconium oxide or zirconium oxide/zirconium oxide.

We offer the glass solder as a tape or dispensing paste. Glass solder foils are available in different thicknesses and can be cut to customer-specific geometries. In addition to our own glass solder, we can also process supplied powders into tapes and pastes.
