Thermal Grease
What is Thermal Grease?
an explanation
Thermal Grease are thermally conductive and non-crosslinking 1-component materials, e.g. based on silicone. Due to their special filling, thermal greases can be compressed to very thin layer thicknesses of < 25 µm. Due to this special plasticity and the thin layer thickness, an incomparably low thermal resistance can be achieved. This contributes significantly to the enormous cooling capacity of electronic components.
Kerafol has silicone-free alternatives for all sensitive components/applications where products containing silicone must not be used.

Delimitation
to other products
In contrast to gap filler liquids, thermal grease are non-crosslinking systems and therefore do not harden. Due to special fillers and the very thin layer thickness, thermal grease are not electrically insulating. The degree of filling and the density of greases are very high. The choice of fillers is always based on the need for easy dispensing. In terms of the gap to be bridged over a certain area, greases are a more cost-effective alternative to films, also because the material utilization is higher (e.g. no material is lost due to punching residues). This is offset by the investment costs for a dosing or screen printing system.
